Santa Ana in many ways maintains a traditional feel of a typical Costa Rican town. The population is predominantly Costa Rican, and the city features small stores, bars, and local fruit and vegetable markets. Yet Santa Ana has also been recently experiencing real estate and commercial development unprecedented in the entire Central Valley. The city has witnessed recent construction of upscale grocery stores, gourmet restaurants, banks, gas stations, medical/dental clinics, beauty salons, coffee houses, hotels, business centers, private schools, malls, and small commercial centers. Located on the outskirts of the capital city of San José, Santa Ana now combines all the advantages of a metropolitan lifestyle with the comforts of country living.
World Center will be constructed in close proximity to these developments. Additionally, World Center is to be located along the new San Jose-Caldera freeway, scheduled to be open to the public traffic by mid 2010. This freeway is expected to be the most important highway of the country linking San Jose to the Pacific beach cities and further to the Inter American Highway in Puntarenas. Traffic in all directions shall have easy and direct access to the project, and there are many developments in a nearby radius that will feed traffic and business to the World Center:
The Mall Multiplaza, the biggest mall in Costa Rica, as well as PriceSmart (Costco) and Office Depot, are about fifteen minutes away in the direction of Escazu. The mall is home to over 100 businesses, a large food court, modern movie theaters showing North American movies in English, banks and financial institutions, department stores, restaurants and over 1,000 parking spaces.
CIMA hospital, a frequent choice of expatriates, and the Clinica Biblica, a Tulane University affiliate, both offer excellent, affordable, diversified medical care with mostly English speaking staff and accepting most North American medical insurance plans. CIMA is about fifteen minutes from Santa Ana.
World Center will also be located in the heart of the new business district of Santa Ana, near the Business Centers Forum I & II.
